Witchcraft

Image
Witchcraft traditionally means the use of magic or supernatural powers to harm others.[1][2] A practitioner is a witch. In medieval and early modern Europe, where the term originated, accused witches were usually women who were believed to have used malevolent magic against their own community, and often to have communed with evil.  It was thought witchcraft could be thwarted by protective magic or counter-magic, which could be provided by cunning folk or folk healers. Suspected witches were also intimidated, banished, attacked or killed. Often they would be formally prosecuted and punished, if found guilty or simply believed to be guilty. European witch-hunts and witch trials in the early modern period led to tens of thousands of executions. In some regions, many of those accused of witchcraft were folk healers or midwives.[3][4] European belief in witchcraft gradually dwindled during and after the Age of Enlightenment.

Feminine Hygiene

Image
What does ‘feminine hygiene’ actually mean? As it’s primarily used, “feminine hygiene” doesn’t really mean anything. It’s nothing more than a marketing ploy. One that’s based in transphobic, misogynistic values designed to make cisgender women feel ashamed of their genitals, and therefore buy so-called feminine hygiene products. The (false) message: Using these products makes you (and your genitals) clean, while not using them makes you dirty. Why is it referred to as ‘feminine’ and not ‘vulvar’? “While the phrase ‘feminine hygiene’ is often used to make people with vaginas feel dirty, the goal of the phrase is recognizing the unique qualities of the parts that make up the vulva and the vaginal canal,” explains Felice Gersh, MD, author of “PCOS SOS: A Gynecologist’s Lifeline to Naturally Restore Your Rhythms, Hormones, and Happiness.” So, actually, a better, more accurate phrase  would  be vulvar/vaginal hygiene. If you’re wondering why the phrase “vulvar...

Being a productive member of the society

Image
A productive member of society is one who contributes to their surrounding community/nation instead of acting as a parasite. Productivity is highly encouraged as it not only benefits society, but the individual. It is well established that when one contributes by working, volunteering and giving to others to help improve others and their situations, the heart/mind is gladdened. It is more important to give than to receive.  When one does not contribute to their society, but only receives benefits, they are like a parasite that sucks the life out of those around them and they themselves eventually succumb to “death” with no one else around them to give life to. This is the problem with welfare situations. Sometimes it cannot be helped but to be on welfare, but it should only be a temporary help. When one is totally dependent on the hands of others, it does not give true satisfaction in life. An honest day’s work, no matter how difficult is better than “being on the dole.” How...

Crypto eradicating traditional currency

Image
What is crypto currency? What is cryptocurrency?  A cryptocurrency is a digital currency, which is an alternative form of payment created using encryption algorithms. The use of encryption technologies means that cryptocurrencies function both as a currency and as a virtual accounting system. To use cryptocurrencies, you need a cryptocurrency wallet.  Crypto's disadvantages  Crypto assets are alternatives to traditional banking that require no intermediary. They are not under the control of a centralized authority like a bank, government, or agency. In fact, the coin’s trust is in the blockchain code and its distributed nature.  Much like cash, it’s no surprise that some (cyber) criminals use cryptocurrency. Interestingly enough, with the growth of legitimate cryptocurrency usage far outpacing the growth of criminal usage, illicit activity’s share of cryptocurrency transaction volume is very low, as transactions involving illicit addresses represented just 0.1...

Finance

Image
The importance of financial literacy and money management for young people Financial literacy is key to helping young people manage money effectively so that they can become financially stable, build assets and achieve their personal goals. Decisions made in early adulthood can have lasting financial consequences. Financial education should be a continuous process, right from childhood to adulthood. Unfortunately, not even our learning institutions seem to recognize this fact. We tend to assume that people will somehow learn about money on their own. There needs to be a paradigm shift when it comes to financial literacy.Well, the importance of financial literacy for our youth cannot be overemphasized. There’s nothing as dangerous as a financially illiterate youth. Someone who doesn’t have an idea on how to manage their finances can easily fall into various financial traps unknowingly. It is generally difficult to fix bad decisions concerning finances – it can take several years t...

Turkey Earthquake

Image
It was shaping up to be a golden year for tourism in Turkey. With favorable exchange rates sweetening the deal for visitors, the country's beautiful beaches, historic cities and geological wonders were poised for a post-pandemic tourism revival. Then disaster struck. On February 6, a massive earthquake close to Turkey's border with Syria caused major loss of life and leveled entire neighborhoods. The seismic shock and the emotional convulsions that followed were both felt across the country. Even as they were processing the catastrophe and doing their best to support their compatriots caught up in it, many working in Turkey's tourism industry realized they had a potential problem on their own hands: Would the disaster scare away visitors? Of course, while this paled in comparison with the suffering of those in the quake zone, it was no less real. Tourism is hugely important for Turkey's economy and the livelihoods of many depend on it. After Covid, visitors were needed ...

Raising kids the right way

Image
It's often hard for parents and kids to get together for a family meal, let alone spend quality time together. But there is probably nothing kids would like more. Get up 10 minutes earlier in the morning so you can eat breakfast with your child or leave the dishes in the sink and take a walk after dinner. Kids who aren't getting the attention they want from their parents often act out or misbehave because they're sure to be noticed that way. Many parents find it rewarding to schedule together time with their kids. Create a "special night" each week to be together and let your kids help decide how to spend the time. Look for other ways to connect — put a note or something special in your kid's lunchbox. Teens seem to need less undivided attention from their parents than younger kids. Because there are fewer windows of opportunity for parents and teens to get together, parents should do their best to be available when their teen does express a desire to talk o...

Umhlonyane

Image
Umhlonyane   is a traditional ceremony done by the Zulu people for girls when the girl reaches the womanhood stage, (depending on what age they reach it). The head (normally a father) of the family slaughters a goat for this ceremony.  A week before the ceremony, the girl is kept in a separate room away from other people, where she will stay inside and comes out on the day of the ceremony. The girl appies red soil on her face (ibomvu ).By the time she is in that room the elder women visit the girl to give advice and guidance on how to behave as a teenager ( itshitshi   – Zulu maiden). Before the day of a ceremony, the girl’s friends (same age) come to stay with her until the next day. All the girls apply ‘white soil’ all over their bodies. In the morning they go to the river to wash their bodies. On their way back to the homestead they sing traditional songs that are relevant with the ceremony. They dress in traditional Zulu clothes for girls ( izigege ) and beads....

The release of Zanele Sfuba's explicit video

Image
In November 2022 an explicit video of Zanele Sfuba was released. The video showed Zanele arousing herself sexually and was on a video call with a man ,whom it was said he was younger than her. The relationship Zanele had with this man was consensual and nobody was obligated  to do anything . It was said that the man had tried to blackmail Zanele for to not release the video in exchange of the money, when zanele refused the man actually released the video which defamed Zanele and he committed a serious crime. Speaking for a lot of people , ones privacy is very important and invading someone's privacy is a serious crime, and I don't think it was fair to Zanele to have her video released. The video might have left her damaged emotionally. Releasing the video defamed Zanele and her dignity was tarnished, and people reacted in many different ways mostly they were judging her. As people we all have a lot of sex fetishes and we also have sexual and kinky things that we like to in pri...

Nazareth Baptist Church

Image
The   Nazareth Baptist Church   (Alternatively called "The Nazarite Church" "iBandla lamaNazaretha") is the second largest,   African initiated church   based in South Africa, founded in 1910 It reveres Shembe as a prophet sent by God to restore the teachings of Moses, the prophets, and Jesus. Members are Sabbath-observers and avoid pork, smoking, and premarital sex. It was divided into two groups after the 1976 death of Johannes Galilee Shembe. The larger group was led by Bishop Amos Shembe until his death in 1995, while Rev. Londa Shembe led the smaller group. As of 2009, it was divided into three factions in KwaZulu-Natal and one in Gauteng. The religion uses leopard skins as part of their ceremonies, which some activists are trying to stop or replace with synthetic leopard skin. On 18 October 2016, the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Durban declared Vela Shembe the legitimate leader of the Nazareth Baptist...

An abandoned child

Image
Children  are always a blessing but they also come with struggles right?Having a child at an early age and also being a single parent is hard. Nowadays there are a lot of single parents, the other parent may be deceased and sometimes it may be that the other  parent does not wanna take full responsibility of the child. So today we are going to talk about how being raised by a single parent may have a negative effect on one's life ,especially if the other parent neglected you as a child . The parent that is raising you may tried hard to  make you not fill the void of not having another parent, gives you endless love and provides for you, but as you grow and learn that the other parent neglected you,you start to develop trust issues ,anger issues ,anxiety and depression.  This is caused by common sense that may make you think anyone who enters your life will leave you , and you usually have problems in your relationships and only to find out that you may be the p...
